Quote:
"Faith is not a good reason to believe in any one thing. It's a bad reason to believe in everything. Faith is not synonymous with any one idea; it is synonymous with any strongly held idea, true or not. But one thing faith is not synonymous with is a logically justified idea."

Bi-Partisan Politics and the Parties
We in America have a two party system. We also have a lot of misconceptions about what a two party system is. A Two party system is not checks and balances. Checks and balances come from a bipartisan government branch, like the House of Representatives and the Senate. Having two houses helps one keep the other in check. We have two houses because we were unwilling to maintain equal populations and though out the states. Obviously, one state would have more people than the other, so why should they have equal say? And if one state has more say then why wouldn’t they bully the others?
We use a two house system to keep tabs on both these possibilities. They keep each other in line and show exactly how some issues are divided from state to state and their populace. It’s a good system for a federal government.
However, The Republicans (REPs) and the Democrats (DEMs) are not government branches. They are private boys clubs with their own rules and regulations on how they run things, how they induct members, how they expel members, and how they fund their highest members. These are not branches but gangs. They control money and power to fool the public into thinking they don’t have any other option. You either vote DEM or REP. That’s not true. Even if you consider yourself one or the other, think about this… Do you subscribe to the opinions and beliefs of your political party 100%? Are there certain opinions shared by your party that you do not agree with? In those cases do you ever wish there was another candidate you could vote for? Do you find yourself voting for your party, even in situations where you disagree with their stance just because you want to be a team player?... If so then why do you conform to the label of DEM or REP? Why not consider yourself Independent? That way you don’t have the team player aspect to hold you back and you can vote for whoever you want depending on the subject. Sure, the DEMs have some good ideas here and there… Vote DEM when the time comes. When the REPs make a good point (rarely) then vote for them. And when they both seem to be fucking each other over to see who can be the bigger douche you can always vote for someone else. Trust me, in almost every election there are people out there who are running that you don’t even know about. Stop conforming to a label and be yourself. Not everyone needs to belong to a club to be counted.
Oh, and for all of you smart enough to know that America isn't a true "Two Party System" and that we are in fact a "Multiple Party System"... Good Job. I made that error on purpose. For all of you readers who did not pick up on that, why didn't you? Shame on you.

Though I consider myself a Progressive Liberal with tendencies towards the Democratic Party, I do vote for both Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. I vote for the person that I think will get the job that needs to be done DONE!
