You can't go and burn books without a permit so the authorities know you're being safe and not going to burn down a forest, right? And if the extremely possible deaths of American soldiers was a consequence of your book burning, then I see that as a good reason not to issue a safety permit. If the pastor received the permit he can burn all the Qurans he wants and I don't care except that he's not taking into consideration the consequences other people will have to deal with for his actions. He has no obligation to consider other people's safety once he has his permit, but he still should consider their safety. It's only Christian.SgtHailehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11255551610277063922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7021651777869638732.post-7559603619070599732010-09-11T23:00:14.882-05:002010-09-11T23:00:14.882-05:00@SgtHaile - Rights require protection precisely wh...@SgtHaile - Rights require protection precisely when it's not easy to do so. It's one of those issues where your rights end where their rights begin, sort of thing. You have no right to put people in danger, so their refusal of his permit was legal and logical.SgtHailehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11255551610277063922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7021651777869638732.post-67812595432791418192010-09-10T13:59:59.756-05:002010-09-10T13:59:59.756-05:00The alleged clergyman has made the first mistake o...The alleged clergyman has made the first mistake of the self-ordained: He hasn't read the rule book. His theology omits 'the golden rule,' which is, incidentally, the rule found in most religions. He also seems to have skipped Christ's summary of the law, part two - 'Love thy neighbour as thyself.' That's the bit that precedes the parable of the Good Samaritan.elisaphanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05849106363471119526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7021651777869638732.post-46143028350011214162010-09-10T13:59:59.309-05:002010-09-10T13:59:59.309-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.elisaphanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05849106363471119526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7021651777869638732.post-52124803261695840752010-09-10T00:53:27.737-05:002010-09-10T00:53:27.737-05:00You said that the threats of violence against the ...You said that the threats of violence against the congregation was a good reason for the city to cancel their fire permit.

However, isn't it the government's job to protect the rights of citizens?
